is the first-half of Ray's popular
nationally-touring one-man show
"Two Victorian Tales",
"A retired wealthy
industrialist feels a need to explore the new phenomenon
that provided his company's sudden expansion and
resounding success: the Railway System. Stumbling upon a
lonely signalbox, he befriends its solitary inhabitant.
A difficult initial meeting ultimately leads to an
uncanny conclusion: a masterpiece of the
Supernatural."

The
Withered Arm
a
Masterpiece by Thomas Hardy (the Wessex Bard)
"The
Withered Arm" will be a local premiere! First
presented in July 2007 at the internationally renowned
Buxton Festival, this will be only the second
performance. It will be the very first opportunity for
an East Dorset audience to experience this gripping tale
of mystery and witchcraft, and the superb well-proven
fusion of the craftsmanship of Thomas Hardy with Ray
Sargent's dramatisation, performance and sound
technology skills.
Combining all of this
with the organisers passion and insight in enhancing an
already delightful and intimate venue with atmospheric
yet non-intrusive lighting, this event truly promises to
be one of unparalleled indulgence for those with a taste
for a great story, peerlessly told.
It is said that hell
hath no fury like a woman scorned, and Rhoda Brook would
have no idea of the powers she possesses, until her
wealthy clandestine ex-lover returns home with his new,
young bride.
Suspicion is aroused
amongst the country-folk when the new bride is afflicted
by a mysterious malignant ailment: an ailment which
defies every treatment that conventional medicine has to
offer.
Strange maladies require
strange cures, indulgence in which will lock the three
pivotal characters into an inevitable chain of events
which must run their course, but just how will it all
end?
