Verwood Heritage Centre Phase 2 Information.

Geologically Verwood is situated in the Hampshire Basin and is on the south.

The Town Centre Car Park is to the rear of the building.

The coloured section shows the original cob pottery workshop now repaired and open as an Exhibiton Centre.

Its interior has been kept as when the potters worked there with brick floor, heather lined roof and drying racks.   The atmosphere has been described as almost unique and typical of such primitive potteries and has to be experienced to be appreciated.

The cafe and shop at the front  provides a comfortable and convenient meeting place.

The studio at the rear provides a unique venue in Verwood for longer term exhibitions of arts, crafts and historical subjects.   It can be used as a lecture room, for evening classes, school groups, demonstration area, exhibitions and special events etc.

The new courtyard will also allow for further exhibitions.

June 13th 2005:-  The Official Opening of Phase two of the Verwood Heathland Heritage Centre by the Marques of Salisbury, PC, DL. occurred.

THE HERITAGE CENTRE PROVIDES A PRESTIGIOUS AMENITY FOR VERWOOD

AND AT THE SAME TIME

PRESERVE A UNIQUE BUILDING WHICH IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF OUR HERITAGE
